Drive-thru banking has become very efficient and impersonal. It is almost as bad as using an ATM machine in the desert, but there is one bank that has it right. The OCCU on Willamette St. is friendly, helpful, conscientious, and personable, unlike its non-drive-thru branch on 11th Ave where they are rude, discourteous, and have a rather obnoxious manager.
The Willamette St. credit union has an annual “Shredfest,” where one may bring up to six boxes of documents to be shredded for free. It helps the environment, saves the community money, and is genuinely concerned with the banking experience for both members and non-members alike.
If it weren’t for the inconsistencies between the branches, I probably would have moved over to OCCU.
